Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification, assessment and treatment of pain and other problems. Palliative care typically integrates the psychological and spiritual aspects of care and offers a support system to help patients live as actively as possible
Comfort care is care that helps or soothes a person who is dying. The goal is to prevent or relieve suffering as much as possible while respecting the dying person's wishes.
Berkshire Place has long-standing relationships with our community’s local Hospice programs who can also provide added support to our residents and family members with end of life decisions.
